Default volvo 960 help, thanks

i have '95 volvo 960.
the engine runs fine, but it doesnt not move forward or reverse. i have tried at one point but it took up 5-6,000 rpms just budge it in reverse. tons of white smoke blowing out of exhaust. when depressn accel pedal, light but still thick white smoke when in idle.
oil levels seem to be fine.
temperature gauges are readn moderate.
im also having trouble locating the transmission fluid dipstick.

The trans dipstick is pretty hard to find. But it is yellow and has a square head.Located below and back a little from the oil one.

Are you sure the smoke is coming out of the exhaust?
What color is the oil?

Sounds liek you have 2 problems.
1. White smoke usually means burning coolant/blown headgasket.
2.Car not moving in gear usually means Low trans fluid or burnt up transmission.
