1996 850 GLT Odometer Miles

I have a 1996 Volvo 850 GLT, with a broken odometer, which currently reads a little over 236,000 miles. Bought the car about a month ago and did not realize that it was broken until I had already bought the car. After doing some digging and getting a AutoCheck report, which I should of done in the first place. It turns out that odometer broke some time in 2014, as the report's last odometer reading was during an emissions test. Or possibly it has been broken since 2011, since that's when the car was given a salvage and rebuilt title. Which by the way, it was infuriating since when I bought the car, the title was clean, but when I went to register it, it turns out that the title was actually a rebuilt title, and it slipped through the cracks when it moved from Illinois to Indiana and ended up with a clean Indiana title. But that's a story for another time. Is there anyway to get the actual mileage of the car from anywhere inside the car's computer? The only tool I have is an OBD2 Bluetooth reader.

The mileage is stored in the DIM - on the 95s with the LED OBD1 system there is a sequence to pull the miles out. Given the 96 is OBD2, generic code readers won't be able to pull the data. It may take a VIDA DICE set up like the dealer has to read from the drivers information module.

For a car that's 20 years old, having an estimate on miles is not a problem nor should it fail emissions. you can fix the odometer pretty easily. You have to pull out the cluster (about 7 screws holding the dash cover including one hidden in the vent) then you need a size 8 torx bit to separate the cluster where you'll find the small plastic gears have stripped. Picture guides can be found online.
