But does the pressure drop when it messes up?
|
Tech,
I haven't checked the fuel pressure yet. Is normal pressure supposed to be between 38 - 42 PSI? Thanks |
Yes close to that.

Mine also was revving and car also failed to start and it turned out that it was PNP. https://volvoforums.com/forum/sho...t=29432&page=2

Tech,
I finally found a fitting(similar to a tire pressure valve) to check the fuel pressure with. At idle it is 38 PSI. I cannot find a fitting that would screw onto the fuel rail to leave on there so when the car does stall again, I can see what the fuel pressure is. Any ideas where to get such a valve? Also is has stalled a couple of times since the last post. It also apprears to only happen when it is 82-84 degrees ambient or warmer outside temperature with high humdity. Thanks in advance for your help. |
you can borrow an actual fuel pressure gauge at autozone i think.but just going on the fact about the temperature and humidity i would look at the fuel pump relay.i know if the solder points are cracked like alot of them are then heat and humidity might affect it.my friend was having same issue with his acura in high temp/humidity,and a new relay solved the problem completly.good luck

The fuel pump relay was already replaced 6 weeks ago. I will check with Autozone though.
Tech - Do you know where to get a fitting for the fuel rail? Thanks |
Most generic fuel pressure guages already have the connection on the guage to connect to the fuel rail.
