1996 Volvo 850 Fuse Box
 

A few months ago at the end of August my Volvo 850 had a fuse melt, which my buddy and I were able to pry out of the underhood fuse box and replace and things seemed to be working out.

Car then started having problems with its headlights not coming on and it overheated.

Towed it to local mechanic, they felt it was an electrical issue but that the head gasket looked ok. They said it needed to go to a Volvo specialist.

Paid painful sum to get the car towed to the sort of local Volvo specialist (Bertini's European Service Center in Spring TX).

Bertini's is saying it needs a new fuse box and they cannot find a fuse box for it. I am at wit's end, I want to get my car fixed and am willing to spend money to get my car fixed, but no idea how. Apparently they called the dealer and the dealer does not have the fuse box, and when I wanted to buy one from voluparts earlier they said I didn't want one.

check our your local craigslist for somebody parting out an 850 - they should be able to pull out the box for you. its not typically a part that needs to be replaced so you can also check out local recycle yards for an 850 (search via car-part.com can help). You shop probably doesn't want to be on the hook for sourcing a used part but that'd be the way I'd go.
