Can someone tell me what the major differences are between these 3 models?

960 RWD 6 cylinder

IMO the Red (4 cylinder 2.3)engine is the best.

 

All 940s came with the turbo, right?

 

No some were Non-turbo.

The 940's were classified as either a 940 turbo or a 940 Se (Both were turbo models)

 

Just curious. Doesn't the 960 Turbo also use the 4 cyl engine? I know the 760 Turbo had the 4 cyl and the non-turbo used a 6 cyl.

 

1990 was the last model year that the L4 2.3L SOHC Turbo VIN 87 B230FT engine was offered for the Volvo 760.

A 4 cylinder engine was never offered for the Volvo 960.
A turbo-ed engine was never offered for the Volvo 960.

Just for the record,

Volvo 960 was shipped with an in-line 4 cylinder 16v turbocharged engine.

1991-1994

B204FT and GT.

1986cc, 190BHP stock

If anyone doubt that, I own one of few made.

 

And the fact that the 9s are RWD...

 

I thought they have different engine specification. When it comes to parts, the Volvo parts are reliable and highly engineered.
