850 Leather Seats and/or Leather Seat Covers
 

I'm looking to buy my first volvo, probably an 850, maybe a v70 if I get super lucky.

The only problem is, I really really want one with leather, but everything I keep finding with leather, the leather is pretty darn bad.

I've search all over online and the forums to find a site where I could buy new leather seats, or just new leather covers, but to no avail.

Anyone here ever done this before? Any sites that might sell these?

Every so often there are leather seat kits on ebay which APPARENTLY are cut to the factory specs. That means you'd have to disassemble your seats and remove the leather coverings. Not the most difficult job but time consuming. Last year I saw a kit for about $700 for front and back seats. I don't know how good they are. Then there are kits which are pretty cheap which clean, colorand fill the cracks of the leather to make it look very good. I've heard a lot of good results from those. I'm sure you can find a car that doesn't have rips, and then you could try cleaning up the wear marks. Otherwise, you can take the seat to the upholstery shop and get them to match a panel and sew it in as a replacement. There's some money spent there though.
