850 T bar across engine...?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I have the Volvo 850 Turbo wagon (95) and in looking at a few DIY videos I see a lot of the cars have a bar across the top of the engine (see photo). Mine doesn't have this and I was wondering what it's for and why it's installed? Thanks! Alan |
The bar connects the tops of the strut towers. This stiffens the chassis front end during high cornering loads

....so is that for high speed cornering, to provide better stability.....or would it improve the ride in normal use?
Thanks, Alan. |
850's did not come with that. Are the videos you're watching of 850's that someone added this or are they a different model, such as an S60 or any P2 chassis Volvo?

They are an aftermarket part. Just search strut brace.
