93 850GLT CEL 241 CODE
Hi everyone! I'm new here in the forum and have a question on my CEL. It has been popping up the 241 code. I would reset it and sometimes it would last several days before coming back. Sometimes it pops back on next day. Does this mean I need to replace my EGR or a good cleaning would do. Any advise from those who have experienced this will be highly appreciated.

RE: 93 850GLT CEL 241 CODE
I have a 94 850 and was experienceing the same. My regular mechanic said that this was casued alot by a carbon build up and was usually resolved by cleaning which he did. On the way home from the garage the code popped again. I had to go to the dealer a couple of weeks later for a recal/TSB on the gas tank heat shield yada yada and asked them to reset the code and take a look see. They found a vey small vacuum leak in a hose attached to the EGR that was causing the trouble. So I guess my advise, do your cleaning and thoroughly check your vacuum hoses in the region.

RE: 93 850GLT CEL 241 CODE
Thanks for the info. Exactly what I found. The vacumm line going to the EGR had a ruptured elbow. Replaced it and re-set the CEL. Code has not popped up back since but I still have to clean the EGR valve sometime soon.

RE: 93 850GLT CEL 241 CODE
Just a warning, be careful removing the 8mm bolts that hold the EGR valve to the valve body, both of mine snapped while I was removing them. Now I am not sure what to do.
