ABS & Tracs Lights

Okay,

So I just finished replacing the header in the firewall for the heater core (Thank you for the very helpful advise on that Tech...only spent 2 hours on the job without all the proper tools), and when I took the car out for a drive to warm it up and get the coolant flowing through all the new hoses I noticed that the ABS and TRACS off lights came on once I got the car up over 30 MPH.

Any suggestions as to cause?

Just by way of information, I did have to remove some wiring from under the dash that a previous owner used in a failed attempt to connect the 6 disc CD changer that I found in the trunk but I can't imagine that this garbage cleanup would have anything to do with my newest issue. I am finding more and more evidence that this car was abused by a previous owner, so I am cleaning up the things that he left behind.

Thanks for the help...again :)

Year?

The 1993-1995 is a totally different animal than the 1996 and on.

Sorry...'96 Turbo

However upon further inspection (by my 10 year old) it was discovered that I forgot to reconnect the sensor on the master cylinder.

To quote the great philosopher Homer Simpson...DOOH!!!

I really love the easy fixes!

If your 1996 module has not yet been rebuilt it will fail on you but ride it out as long as you can.

I have a 95? My lights come on from time to time, but as i understand it is not likely to be the module, is this correct?

On your 95 pull the codes from port A-3. Many times it is just a matter of cleaning up the wheel sensors with brake cleaner.

arzy-

About 6 months ago I replaced my rotors with some Brembro cross drilled units and found that cleaning the ABS sensors with brake cleaner left a sticky gunk on them so I ended up re-cleaning them with some denatured alcohol that I use for cleaning computer components. That may have been fairly unique to my car but just in case you run into that...

Just make sure you get the 92% or it will leave gunk behind.
