AC not cooling in hot weather

RE: AC not cooling in hot weather
A few things to look at.
1.Does the cooling fan come on when the A/C is on? The fan under the hood
2.When looking at the pressure does it drop when you give it gas? It should drop when you give it gas because the temp of the freon is dropping which will make the low pressure drop.Evenyaully it will drop to about 24 to 26 Psi then kick the compressor off. Which is normal. That is to prevent it from freezing up.
3.Maybe one of the temp blend doors isn't working properly
Do you have really good air flow out the vents with the A/C on?
Does the car run hot at all?

2. Since I have been doing this TS by myself, I haven't tried this. I will try later today when my gf gets home. I did notice that the compressor never did turn off while I worked on the problem.
3. Yes, air comes out very fast from all the vents. You can hear the blower fan kick into high gear when RECIRC is turned on. I can not really tell what the Airmix does, even though I have the original manual and read the description. Does it mix hvac air with outside air? I really am not sure. However, when set to minimum/off, the air gets colder.
personally, i thought the car was kinda hot, but then again, this is houston. Yesterday i took out the plugs, which i will be changing out. the cap, rotor and wires looked new. I think there is a heat shield over the fuel rail feeding the injectors. that whole assembly was very hot, emanating lots of heat even after 20 minutes of working on the car in the shade. I guess I have to make a conscious effort to see if the electric fan turns on to cool everything off.
I'll get back to you once I finish checking what you suggested.

Yes the Air mix mixes Hot outside air with the A/C air.
Keep it off and use recirc. The A/C will get about 10 to 12 degrees cooler using the recirc.
