aftermarket radio!!! need help wont actually turn on but the radio will take a cd!!!
 

hey VOLVONATICS!! 850keeterbeata here!! ok i replaced the factory radio with an aftermarket one, had no problem with the code and stuff but two years after having the aftermarket radio in the car is just stoped workin it would take cd's but not turn on, SO I THOUGHT IS WAS THE RADIO THAT BLEW OUT so i went and bout another one, but soon as i put the new one in same thing take's cd's but doesnt actually turn on so i can hear the radio. SO I PUT THE FACTORY ONE BACK IN AND NOW IT DOESNT EVEN SAY ("CODE") ON THE SCREEN TO PUNCH IN THE SECURITY CODE BUT THE ANIT-THEF LIGHT STILL BLINK'S????

Before you buy more radios, I would check the connections and make sure you got standby power and ignition power.

The radio has two power wires going to it. One yellow (i think) that always stays powered, and one red wire that is only powered when you turn the ignition on.

The standby power is for stuff like station memory, anti theft light and probably also cd eject.

So check if you got power where you should.
