Alarm sounds when i disconnect the battery
I didn't even know it had one!
How do i stop it from doing this? Ta |
RE: Alarm sounds when i disconnect the battery
Sounds like a separate siren with battery back up.
If you can find the siren, it will have a key switch of some sort on it. If you don't have the key (most likely), then go to a car audio/alarm installer, they should have spare keys. Other option is to wrap it in a towel, cut the wires (one at a time) and drop it in a bucket of water. BEFORE doing the bucket method, make sure it really is only a siren. If it contains any other part of the alarm system, you might not be able to start the car without it...... Third option is a 'bypass'. If all you want to do is remove/replace the battery, you can 'feed' the car 12 volt power INTO the cigarete lighter socket. This will maintain 12v in the car while the battery is out. |

Well it must be factory fitted and have the immobilser tied in because i had to leave the ignition on for 10 seconds before i could start the car. All the dash lights were on.

Just lock and unlock the doors and everything should reset. Either with the remote or the key (The key switches are a little flaky since we never use them :)).
It is perfectly normal for the alarm to trigger when the battery is replaced. ...Lee |
