Alternator
I have been hearing a noise like a bad bearing for a while now and have traced it to a bad bearing in the alternator. The Haynes manual says unbolt the old one and lift it out then bolt in the new one. They don't say anything about all the stuff in the way. Any suggestions on this? Are there any write ups on it?

If you take the cooling fan out (which is really easy), you might be able to get it out. The power steering pump is reasonably easy to remove if you need to. I hate working in that area of the car.

I started looking at the RSPI vidio and it doesn't look bad.

So I did this project today and if I did it a second time it would probably take no more than two hours but, and that's a big but. not being entirely sure of the bolt locations it took a lot longer. The bottom bolt of the power steering bracket was the worst. If you are going to do this make sure you check the location of that bottom bolt first as it will save you a lot of time.
