Aux engine oil cooler

I am looking into installing an Aux oil cooler on my 850R, Living in Las Vegas with 120 degree summers some extra cooling seems like a good idea. What I was wondering is which factory oil cooling hose to tap into? the one that goes to the top of the radiator or the bottom. I think I want the return line from the Rad to the engine. Any thoughts or comments would be great!

Thanks!

Sean

as far as flow direction, it shouldn't matter but I've seen posts for other models where the secondary cooler was mounted high enough to not risk any low clearance. The choice may be all about sourcing/fabricating the new oil lines. Another idea I saw posted was to use the oil cooler from an RX-7 to replace the factory cooler. As to gaining extra cooling, another idea to consider is using a product like Redline Water Wetter which is a coolant additive that improves the thermal transfer through the radiator.

Not sure where the best place to tap into would be but as far as getting the cooler itself goes you should check out a salvage yard or Pull-A-Part. They're usually about $16-18 w/o tax. Since it's not really a wear item, you should be fine to pull one off any car with reasonably sized fittings.

Hey, i have the 850R last night it was getting really hot and making weird noises. I don't know why, it was running perfectly in the morning.I called the mechanic and he recommend to check the transmission cooler and i have no idea what the hell is the transmission cooler so i did some searching online and i found this guide for transmission coolers, i followed the steps and after the check i think that the cooler is damaged so idk guys should i order one online and install it by my own or take it to a maintenance garage which will cost me more money ??
