battery
I have just recently replaced the battery twice in 2 months. How can I tell if there is an open circuit draining the battery or if the battery was just bad to begin with or because I didn't drive the car for several weeks?. The battery was completely dead.
my voltmeter measures from 2 mAmps to 200 mAmps, will that work? What kind of draw am I looking for? With the cables disconnected it looks like there maybe a little resistance from the positive terminal, probably due to some corosion.
Does it read milla amps only? You should have a reading of about .50.You disconnect the positive cable and put on lead on the battery and the other lead on the cable. To avoid a big spike of amps and blowing the fuse in the meter.Put the leads on both the battery and the cable then slide it off the battery. You should have I think like .50.If you have more start pulling fuses one at a time and watch for the amps to drop. When they do that is the curcuit that the fault is in.
