Blower working intermittently
Hey Guys,
The blower on both my and my friends 95 and 96 wagons are starting to act funny. Sometimes the switch just doesn't do anything ( aka turn the blower on ) and then it just starts up again like normal the next day. Is this a common switch failure or is there a wiring issue? I know for certain on my 96 that the motor is good, cause I replaced it a few months ago. Any ideas? My guess is the switch - Grae |
...........maybe this is new, no one ever experienced this?

Are you climate control or manual?

You may need a new resistor assembly (power stage). If not, the unit itself may be shot. Check for secure electrical connections.
ECC (Automatic) unit will give you stored fault signals by blinking the LEDs on the face panel of the ECC. Clear stored fault codes (if any) and see if it cures the trouble. See attached; if your A/C is different, then you have ECC. The 3rd pic belongs to a member (cannot remember his name). JPN |
Ill post a pic of my unit tonight, but i thing its different than your first pic, Mine has "Auto" settings... ( climate control? )
Would the Resistor, or the unit being bad be an intermittent problem? This only happens every once in a while for me... |
If the ECC itself is shot, it could give you all kinds of troubles. If it is the case, I would try to find one at a junk yard. However, you may only need to buy a can of electrical contact cleaner and clean every connections among the ECC, blower and the resistor.
