Default Brakes

I am haveing a problem with my 93 850 GLT where the front brakes (first the driver's side and recently the passenger's) are squealing rather loudly. First I just figured that the pads needed to be replaced, but when I pulled the wheel off to investigate, everything looked fine. The pads were at a good level and the rotors looked fine. I even had a mechanic look at them and he said he thought they were ok. Are the brakes on that year just naturally squealy?
Also has anyone upgraded their brakes and have any recomendations about what kind I should get?

I havea 1996 Volvo 850 Wagon I bought in 2001, I have the records of the previous owner buying new pads in 2000. They got a full inspection every 10,000. Non the less, at the end of the week I am getting new pads and i have to replace rotters (sp).

Maybe the 850 just has funny brakes.

Default RE: Brakes

The noise is most likely caused by the type (brand ) of brake pad that is on it. I have found that the cheaper pads have a harder compound and are more prone to glazing and causing noise. I use either OE Volvo Pads or Textar to minimize the noise they are prone to .
