A/C PROBLEM - NEED ADVICE
I have a 95 850 and when i got the car the air semi-worked. I just tried running it yesterday and it blew hot air so I filled it up w/ a can of R134A while the car was running and the air was on max setting and it blew cold. I got in it today and it blew hot air again, then after I got off work I tried it again and it cold air for about 5 minutes then started blowing hot air again![:'(] There are no blinking A/C lights either. I dont know what this could be so any help is appreciated.

did you check the pressure inside the system on the low pressure side? You can get a gage from K/Wal-Mart etc., and follow the instructions.
1. Try to check the pressure when it is hot (~90F) outside. It should be within the 25-45 PSI range. Be carefull to not overfill the system-it will destroy your compressor.
2. Get a digital temp. gage (probe type) from same store(I got my from target for 9.99-in cooking section), and check the temp. at the vent- it should be about 50F on the second speed -if the temp is above, and you have too much freon -let some out, allow the car to idle w/ AC on for 3-5 min, and see if temp falls down. Keep doing that untill temp is about 48-50.
If you are low on freon (based on reading from the pressure gage), don't put the whole can at once-put some freon and watch temp again (3-5 min. to idle), and so on.
Good Luck

RE: A/C PROBLEM - NEED ADVICE
Anyone have any luck here... my 95 t5r has a similar problem. A/C start going out, then went completely. Put 2 cans back in and it was great for about 2-3 weeks. Filled it back up again with one of the "leak fixing" cans and it now comes and goes sporadically. It is about 85-95 right now and with the sun, the car is extremely hot on the black interior/exterior?
Could there be a leak? My compressor does cycle pretty frequently. What is a normal cycle?

RE: A/C PROBLEM - NEED ADVICE
hrmmm, i just purchased a 96 850 sedan and was told the a/c had just been recharged. the car was shipped to me and as soon as i got it off the truck and started it up, the a/c was blowing ice cold. i messed with the a/c settings and it started blowing hot. i got really pissed and just rolled the windows down and drove for a while, then set all the temp. controls to 'auto' and it started blowing ice cold again for the rest of my 30 minute drive. i haven't driven the car since because it literally just got to me this morning and i drove it to work.
