car acting like out of gas/with a full tank
 

I went to back my car out of the driveway today and the engine acted noisy. I let the car warm-up and went in reverse and the car wouldn't go . Then it would back up in short bursts, and stop. It was like it couldn't get the gas to the motor??
Any suggestions are welcome.

If you think you have a fuel delivery problem, you need to measure pressure using the shrader valve (like a tire) on the side of the fuel rail. Pressure should be in the 45 PSI range. If not, you may have an issue with the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel filter,fuel pressure regulator or possibly a problem with the fuel. Did you recently fill up (say when the tanker was filling the station?)? have you run any dry gas (gas antifreeze) to get any water out of the tank?

If not that, then I'd start with looking into replacing the fuel pump relay. Usually they overheat when the fuel pump is working too hard so if replacing the relay fixes the problem, you can take bets the fuel pump will fail shortly thereafter. A quick trick is to jumper the relay (google on how to) to see if that helps.

Had to be told and garage replacing my transmission.
