Default CBV Complete Failure?

before i was peaking at 9psi even with a MBC..

my volvo friend told me to disconnect i the red line ( the one that controlles the wastegate, maybe its the yellow then)
and then you should get max boost, so i tried it ( to test if it was the CBV or other) and i was ripping it to test and i peaked at 9psi, then i lost all power, and i now peak at 4 psi, once i hit 4, it withers down to nothing.

whats happening?

OMG !!! Thats the worst advice anyone can ever give you !! The turbo will just keep making boost untill the engine blows with the vac. line to the wastegate disconnected.
I'd say the CBV is the least of your worries now.You will prob. be looking @ getting a new engine now.

it never boosted more than 9psi.. also i have stock ecu, so the ecu would have cut at 15psi

similar story posted here, same thing i tried also: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/for...28026&p=124159

starting to think that i just need to reset my ecu.

trust me resettign your ECU does nothing look at your cbv i'm doign that tommorow!

i'm in the same boat

5-6 psi without MBC
5-6 psi WITH MBC
10 psi with the WG line disconnected

and btw disconnecting you WG line does noting like matt01 your saying the ECU would hit fuel cut at 15 so its not even that bad

however i cant get higher boost not matter wat i try so i'm lookign at the CBV tommorow and gunna see wats up!

ya, im sure i didnt harm my engine, however im sure i did harm my CBV further.
theres no way i hurt anything, i never hit more than 10 (because something is broken) and fuel cut is at 15 if anything happens.

im sure it has to do with an intercooler hose or a failed CBV.

im going to pick up and ipd CBV tomorow, im lucky enough that a dealer near me has 1 in stock. 90$

OK Well I did that before and my car made way more than 15psi barely giving it any gas and I let off.The ECU def. did not cut off @ 15psi.Luckily I didnt harm anything.

I have only read of 1 failure on Volvospeed, nor have I read a post from Lucky or IPD stating they have recalled their HD CBV diaphragm. If you can post a link to their announcement would be helpful.

i aswell have only seen 1 thread regarding this... maybe 2 or 3 people with problems, and they were probably running 20psi with them.

Contact Lucky @ IPD and he will confirm the problems. He said they are going to have new ones made because the diaphragms are weaker than the stock one in the current ones they have.

Just wondered where you heard or read their announcement. Since A8 apeks was the only post I had seen for a defective unit perhaps others posted and I missed them. They are mass produced so problems can occur. Similar happened when I purchased their TCV, it was defective, but they promptly provided a replacement.

MY STUPID MISTAKE...

I GOT IT TO 14PSI PEAK...

lack of a proper intercooler hose inspection, the hose clamp rotted, and failed, and blew off lower hose.

Well lets see.I checked the CBV,it was good.Still wouldnt make full boost. Before that I had checked all vac. lines and int. hoses and piping.
Did full tune up incl. fuel filter etc. Put on MSD coil, newer injectors and fuel press. reg. Still wouldnt make full boost.
Cleaned the mass air, still wouldnt make full boost.

Got rid of the stock exh. and put my OBX catless turboback on and whatdaya know !! It made full boost !! So I'd say thats a pretty clear sign the cat. was badly clogged.
