Cheap scanner for 96 850 T5

I just bought a T5 with 80 000 miles. I am thinking of buying a scanner. Can someone recommend one? I don't need super functionality, just standard code reading.

I got one at Auto Zone for around $70. Does what I want it to do.

Can the cheap ones reset codes?

I unhooked the seat tensioner while reparing it and the SRS light is on. Can the cheap OBDII units reset this code?

Thanks,
JM

Nope. Won't do the Service light either. I think the SRS light is dealer only.

If you spend between $2,500 and $3,500 you can get one to clear the SRS codes.

In that case, I'll take two.

According to Alex Peper from Car Code, his software will reset the SRS indicator...

================================================== =======

Yes, this will use the ISO protocol. Model ISO $122 USD will need a laptop or PC with a rs232 male serial com port. If USB port will need model ISO iTran $132 and a universal USB to serial adpater $28
