Couple of questions.

Ok so as I had posted before my A/C does not work in the car. I've been busy at work so all of our stuff is in use. My wife noticed the REC and AC lights blink but didn't catch how many times they did to find out what was wrong, I want to know if Volvo makes a program like VW has VAGCOM to allow you to check trouble codes and stuff like that.

Also when i checked the fuse box to make sure the Climate control fuse was good I saw I am fused for rear heated seats...... Is there a switch or how does that work? 96 850 wagon.

Also Ive had the tranny in sports mode to see how it felt and went at a slow roll it will downshift kind of hard. Is this normal? I didn't notice any mounts being broken, but not sure.....

RE: Couple of questions.

OK, please let us know what year your 850 is. If it's '93-'95, you can retrieve codes from the ACC ECU manually; no tools or testers are required. If '96 & '97, it would have to be taken to the dealer.

I would try an aftermarket A/C recharge kit to see if the system is holding pressure. If not, the evaporator is probably gone. If there is sufficient pressure, the compressor may need re-shimming.

I have no clue about the rear seat heating system.

As to SPORT mode, the only difference Iknow of is that the engine wants to reach higher RPM before upshifting. If you felt jerk/shock, check the transmission fluid for proper condition (clear red & no burnt smell), as well as proper level. If the fluid is OK and the problem persists, check to see if there are any codes stored. If '93-'95, again you can retrieve codes manually. For '96 & '97, visit a local auto parts shop such as AutoZone and have your car OBD-II scanned; they should be able to tell you if there are codes in the transmission ECU (which usually triggers the Check Engine Light, though).

Will wait for your reply.

RE: Couple of questions.

Sorry had in my post It's a 96 850 wagon.

I have one of the cheap lil quick charge things. The pressures are not right on it, they are to high.

RE: Couple of questions.

Hi,

Sorry, I must have had a mid-age moment[8D].

The correct pressure range for the system is between 25-33 PSI on the LOW side.

For '96 model, you'd have to visit the dealer to have it diagnosed.

Or, wait to see if someone else has better ideas.
