dealer repair codes - not engine codes
I recently bought an 850. It has been serviced at the local dealer. I went to the dealer asking about the cars history. They printed off several pages of information, detailing the date and miles, that they serviced or repaired the car. The "description" of what was done is so general that it could be anything! Here are some of the "descriptions" of work done:
Lube oil filter - ok, fair enough. oil leak - ummmmmm body exterior - ????? Engine - A mechanic friend of mine showed me that on the print outs, there are codes that would explain the action the mechanic took. These codes look like this 20V0Z7 20V0ZEL0 10V0Z2 Of course I didn't list them all, but if you know what they are you probably recognize them. My questions are, what do these codes mean? Can anyone tell me how to get more detailed history on the car? Thanks, cranky |
RE: dealer repair codes - not engine codes
I beleive they are Warranty op codes the dealer uses for an item to get paid.
Im not sure if Volvo will tell you if you call them. Most people that know what they mean work in the warranty area of the dealer. |
RE: dealer repair codes - not engine codes
I think you're right in respect to how the mechanis are paid.... but these codes are used long after any warranty coverage.
Thanks, cranky |
RE: dealer repair codes - not engine codes
Than it would be preset codes in the computer for the dealer it was serviced at.They also call them OP codes.
