Front struts

Hello, I'm need of new front struts for my 97 850 T-5. Any suggestions on brand? Thanks!

Bilstein TC's, good price, and a bit stiffer then stock. however not to harsh you will break a hip...

The HD's are nice too, but if you dont want to spend the extra... don't.

Use the coupon code for this site, or MVS, or VS and save your self 10% too...

Probably check out the strut mounts and spring seats too. Use OEM... If you dont change them now... they will break later...

Get an alignment too....

All depends what you want for your ride. I have HDs and Kilen sport springs, love the ride. I almost feel like it's too soft for me now and want something stiffer. And like Regime said, make sure you do spring seats and mounts and use OEM or heavy duty. I put in aftermarket spring seats this summer with my suspension set up and I've already completely destroyed them.

Thanks so much for the info. At this point, I'm driving like a 70 year old (I'm about 20 years younger) so the softer ride would be fine with me.

front struts

I guess what I'm looking for is a "smoother ride." The car is pounding like crazy on the front end whenever I hit a bump. I had the sway bars and motor mounts replaced which greatly helped, but I would just like the car's front end to be a little higher off the tires and not to POUND bumps in the road. Any help would be appreciated.

Struts are not gonna change your ride height though. if you want your ride height to change you'll have to do something with the springs.

I agree with the Bilstein TCs recommendation; have them on both my cars. Ride is only slightly firmer than stock, but more importantly feels more controlled (dampened).

If you really want the softest ride, go with OEM replacement; they sell those at FCP too. Those are very good shocks as well...

Thanks for all of the great responses. I have heard that the Koni FSD's are really good for the 850 and may be what I'm looking for. Any reviews?

Thanks

They'll be stiffer than oem. And if you said you drive like your 70, I don't see any point in paying the large amount of extra money for them.
