I think my fuel pump died last night. Car just turned off, wasn't getting any gas. Tried to start and it turns over fine but won't start. Checked all fuses, they are fine. So I assume that it is the fuel pump. I was wondering if this is a big job or if I could just pull the old one off and put a new one in. Any help is much appreciated.

The job really is not very hard. I just recently did it . All you do is take out the carpet on the floor of you trunk and you can see the plate that you have to take off to get to the pump. The fuel pump is the larger plate. You just have to unbolt that plate and the top of the fuel pump is rite there. Taking of the 2 fuel line on the pump is probably the trckiest part. Its kind of hard to explain but i used a standard screw driver and you have to pry them off from the bottom part of the fitting because you cant just pull them off. Then you just unskrew the large ring that hold the fuel pump on and you can pull the pump. You also have to pull the carpet in the truck behind the right side rear seat becasue your fuel pump is pluged in up there. Then i would recomend buying a whole new fuel pump asembly so you can just swap it instead of changing the pumps inside the asembly. I hope some of this information can help you if the fuel pump is your problem. You probably need to check for fuel pressure to make sure the fuel pump is your problem. You do that from a valve on the right side of your fuel rail or a valve under you car behind the fuel filter. Its supposed to be around 43psi.
