Default Heater fan issue

I think this is related to all the rain we have had recently but first My heater fan wouldn't turn on and now it wont turn off. Any ideas on a cause for this? I'm wondering if water got into the ecc unit and is shorting something out.

Today I checked all related fuses and all are good. When I turn on the car the red light that is supposed to come on by the AC switch does not come on and some times the fan comes on when the fan switch is off and sometimes nothing happens. I pulled out the climate control unit to check connections and all was good. I have power to the unit since the fan sometimes runs. It looks like I need a new climate control unit. Is there any where that sells reconditioned units? I might try PnP but then I could just be buying another bad unit.

I would go the PnP route or search eBay. the units don't die all that often and you can probably find one via car-part.com, eBay or Craigslist for $75 to $100 tops.

If I have to pay $100 I can get a fully reconditioned unit for $125 from Programma. If its not raining this weekend its off to PnP.

Well I finally got to PnP today and picked up a ECC unit. Now I get a reaction from the various components but the fan still wont run. Is there anything between the ECC and the fan like a speed control or anything?

fan has a ballast resistor to control the speed - but that should be bypassed when on high. did you probe around the relay to see if you get any voltage?

Is that relay in the fuse box under the hood? If it is not there then where is it? If everything else is reacting then a relay makes sense.
