I just bought a 1994 850 sedan yesterday. My daughter took it to work last night and when she came out to go home, the front right fender was a little crumpled, turn signal destroyed and head light lens cracked. But I can't get the hood open! The two latches controled by the inside cable have popped open and there's no little red thingy sticking out of the grill to pull on. How do I get the hood open? And which direction is that safety latch supposed to go in order to open? So now the hood is loose but latched--you get the idea.

You will have to look through the grill with a flashlight and try to hook the handle and try to pull it. But you might have to push the hood down a little to get it to swivel the proper way.

It is hard to explain I have done it about a 100 times but is hard to explain.

If all else fails then try to slide the clips and release the grill to give you better access.(That is a pain in the butt.)
