Intermittent Gauge Electrical Failure
About every third time I start the car -- '95 850 -- the gauge lights and other electricals don't work. The symptoms are consistent. The dash lights come on during the test sequence when I start the car, but none operate after that, including the turn signal dash indicators, except for the ABS light which stays on. Also the park-lock will not disengage, so I have to use the manual override button to get it into gear. The quartz clock works, but it runs slow. The radio is unaffected.
Before I spend hours going over the wiring diagrams, has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on where to start looking? Thanks, JM |
Nevermind, I read the archives and it was the switch
Ignition switch is the culprit. Just need to turn it back slightly.
I know, I should search before posting. JM |

Jiggle the key around a little when this happens.
http://www.eeuroparts.com has it for $45.90 and free shipping. Look in the Interior Body Electrical section. Extremely easy to change if you have the right Torx sizes. |

It would be best to go with a new one. They are only like $60.00 here.
