Hit the easy button man. Get some tranny conditioner, I hear Valvoline makes some good stuff. It may cure the leak forever from what I hear.

It's usually easier to just replace the rack if a conditioner or stop leak additive doesn't work. I think there is a seal kit available as I've been down this road before but I don't know anyone who has ever torn a rack down to just do those outer seals. In all cases we just replace the rack.

Good time to add a filter to the system to protect the pump from the rack shelling out in the future.

Before you buy the tranny conditioner, take a look at Auto-Rx. Auto-Rx, a Magnefine filter and clean fluid may save your rack.

So I replaced my rack a few months ago. It came with an inline filter, but since the original didn't have one, I didn't install it.

Are you suggesting that I should add the filter?

Magnefine filter on the power steering circuit is one of the first things I do on any new to me used car. The rack will last for ever with clean filtered fluid.

It's especially important to install the filter when you replace the rack as the power steering circuit has debris in it from the old failed rack.

Yes I am. I would put the filter in. It is cheap insurance to have one in the power steering line.
