Looked at a 97 850 with only 32K miles, need advise.
Hello,
I just looked at a 97 850 with only 32K miles and in absolute mint condition. The car is in showroom condition and is almost like a new car except that it is a 9 year old car. The car has been in Folarida all of its life until the owners moved to chicago 2 mounths ago so it has never been driven in snow. The car is a GLT with leather seats. The only problem I have is the price. He listed the price for 10,950 and he says he will not sell it less then $10,000. The car is in flawless condition with only 32K miles but the bottom line is that is it worth $10,000 for a 9 year old volvo. Im just hopeing it will not get sold for a while and maybe he might lower the price.

These cars are good for quite a few miles. Many things on cars go bad from age and lack of use. One time it cost me more to let a car sit for more than a year than it did to drive it. Had to replace exhaust, muffler and brakes, but I do live in Ohio not Florida. Was this car garaged or did it sit outside? The KBB Private Party in excellent condition on that car is about $7,500, but I still think he will get what he is asking. If you really want the car, don't fool around and lose it over $1,000 +/- if you can afford what he is asking for it. It's hard to tell what a car that age is really worth. If it was a T5 or an R I would be asking you for the guys phone number, and I would probably buy it. For the GLT, which is a Low Pressure Turbo, I'm not real sure what I would do. Sorry, I wish I could be more help, but it's your decision.
