I was wanting to put a 5 speed in my 1996 850 R but i didnt know if its a good idea and i have no idea where to go to get this done. please help, i need some input on whether or not i should do it and where and how i should do it.

 

Good luck. It's probably doable, but it will be quite a bit of work and I think the computer needs to be reprogrammed also. You will probably have a hard time finding somebody to do it.

 

Find a wrecked 850 turbo or Non turbo stick car and buy it.
Then swap everything over.

where could i buy a transmission from? and could i get a tranny out of a completely different car, like my friend told me to get one out of a porsche?
