I have seen it in here many times and been told.
Also I think there is articles on IPD's web site stating it as well.

300 Hp is about what the stock engine and tranny can hold.

If you go higher your going to want to beef that tranny up and also replace the internals of the engine with stronger better goodies.

thanks guys.. would you happen to know if the t5r engine would be a direct swap with the n/a motor?? meaning the motor mounts and n/a tranny would be a direct match, or would i have to switch a couple of things??

Others have asked thus question and the answer I have heard most often is sell the NA car and buy a turbo. It will be much cheaper in the long run.

I believe it will fit fine.

This is a much better idea then turboing your NA. Which is exspensive and time consuming.

Is it correct to assume that 300 hp is wheel horsepower and not at the crank? - AB

The transmission and engine mounts are all the same for mounting.

BUT be warned the trans. will blow fast on a turbo engine.

Yeah, typically for all cars, it's better to get a car which is already turboed (if there's the option) instead of swapping.

But I think some people have some type of attachment to their own car and many choose to swap..

I'm with everyone, additionalturbocharging without additional reinforcement or mods can only shorten usable life of the car, as it's over-stressing many components. But some people seem to want to "Driftise" their cars, especially RWD cars.

Well, this is a personal preference after all. On Volvos, stock turbo seems to produce enough punch, unlike some Saabs. But the performance at lower RPMs, especially below 3,000 RPM, seems sluggish on 850s.

Good day,

Volvo's (850's) have some massive turbo lag.

However, it's nice because you can save on gas a little bit..
