I have no problem getting turned into a boost junky. I emailed INMotion and it is $300.
This is going to sound like a total noob question becuase it is. I have been beating around the bush on this for a long time and have never really gotten an answer. Everytime I look up the 850 model it seems someone has a new name for their 850. I've heard of non-turbo, GLT, turbo, T5, T5-R, R and all types of variants. My question is how do I know exactly which one mine is. All it came with was the word turbo on the back of the car. Does this mean it's a T5?
Also, do I have a High pressure turbo or low pressure turbo?

In order to save my own *** on such a dumb question, The GLT was instated in 1997 with a "High torque, Low Rev" turbo which produced 190HP. Seeing this I believe I have the T5 with 222 HP considering it is a '95 and I know it is not an R.
But what is the difference between T5, T5-R, and R?

I believe turbo and T5 is the same....222hp
I believe the T5-R and the R have an extra HP when you get on it by raising the boost......240hp
All of the turbo, T5, T5-R, and R models use the same 15G turbo, but the exhaust housings vary.....
The European "R" got the 16T turbo
You probably have a Turbo model.

TIPSP is right! It just depends on the year your car model is. 96-97 T5 is same as 94-95 Turbo. And an R is same as T5R. Not positive on the years though. But once yu get the right "tune" They all can make the same power.
Yur 95 Turbo is a HPT. 15G....
So Stop procrastinating and get the tune. Go to ebay, find the Volvo 850 ECU tune for $225, and bid. If you want it now, its $275. Just that easy!

Keep watching, or even save the search and ebay will email you if one comes up.
Good Luck.

Running the chipped T5-R ecu will be fine.
I have an Upsolute tuned 96 ECU in mine right now.
The real plus on the ECU I have is it deletes the EGR system in the car.
I run the MBC because like already said every car is different. Mine was supposed to be the 15 PSI tune and in my car it was only running about 12 PSI without the MBC.
I also like the MBC because when the boost comes on it is alot smoother of a transition for it to come on and the boost comes alot faster then when it is controlled by the ECU.

So does anyone know what the actual difference between the T5 ECU and T5-R ECU. If what I understand is correct, both cars run the same turbo. Is the PSI increased or is it just a better mapping. When my brother put in the T5-R ECU we just noticed a little better spooling in late 3rd gear.

Here is what INMotion has told me
"We can only guarantee the program aspect of the process, meaning that we cannot guarantee a non original ECU with function without possible faults. While we do have many customers running that ECU in a non R vehicle without problems, there is no guarantee expressed or implied that your experience will be the same."
So do you think I'm ok or should I be safe by selling the one I have on ebay and just buying a used T5 off ebay?
