Need to sell '97 850 GLT (sedan) ~150k, $5k?
Hi, I'll take some pictures later. It's beige.
The short: I am moving so that I can be closer to the hospital, and I don't need my Volvo anymore.
I'm going to post about it locally, as well, but I would prefer it go to someone that would appreciate it, given the condition that it was/is in.
It has a very clean history and was garage-kept in near showroom condition until I bought in 2021. It had roughly 100k on the clock then. It has more than that now, I want to say 140 or 160k. I've had the issue with the odometer where it froze up because I pushed the reset while driving. I have the replacement cog. My health hasn't been such that I can do the replacement, but it's "on the list."
I've replaced the distributor cap and had it gone over by a Volvo specialist in Dallas/Fort Worth, and the only issues I have with it right now are that the ABS sometimes trips due to a bad FR TPMS sensor, and the odometer issue.
I also replaced the stereo with a Kenwood DDIN system. Original radio included, but it will probably need to be security unlocked if you want to put it back stock, and it will need an antenna. The previous one would not extend, so I removed it. It's got an SXM unit in it, as well.
This was going to be my foray into sound competition, but life has other plans.
I'd like to ask $5k for it. I don't know if that's a fair price, and I don't have the energy or the time to do intimate price comparisons. If it's too little, I don't care. If it's too much, make me an offer. I just don't want it to disappear off the road, ideally.
Happy to drive it anywhere in the contiguous US for the cost of gas/travel and a plane ticket. It's been my second-most favorite car to drive.
I'm in Montana. Thanks.

as to a "fair price", that's really hard to say for an older car that is being presented as a "collectable" to a Volvo enthusiast. What you could do is check out auction sites like Bring-a-trailer to see what similar models have sold for over the past few years. A GLT is really a middle trim model - 850Ts and 850Rs are more rare so they would command a better price.
