Need some advice...

I found a pair of sonar angel eyes at the junkyard for $25, but I want to change them up a bit...

Here is my issue... Im trying to pull off the lense but its held in by that really strong grey silicone ( the same as the abs modules have).
I need advice on how to soften the silicone so I can remove the lense to make a mold.

I was thinking heat gun but the lense is plastic...

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance..

here is what im talking about

you could put them in the oven at 200 degrees for an hr or so. thats about the only idea I have on it. it might soften up that silicone a bit and shouldnt be hot enough to melt the plastic.

Copy that... That is better than the heat gun..
Ive done the heat gun with glass headlights but never with plactic crap...

Ill do the oven tomorrow and let you know my results..
Like I said I got them for $25 so if I melt them..... oh well

Thanks for the idea..

I would just cut at them with a razor.

I was able to yank them out. I think Tech wrote instructions on them.... I would also check the wires for shorts since you are there...

The problem with the razor is that most of the silicone is covered under the plastic..
BUT......
The oven worked AWESOME!!
Baked @ 200 Deg for 7 min each
Lenses were off in 25 minutes total time..
No melting, and did find some corroded wires that will be replaced.

Thank You guys for the advice!!

I really appreciate it, I was stuck and about 5 min from taking a dremmel to them....

I wish I wold have done this with the ABS module.... LOL DAMN!
