new downpipe

Hey guys,
I have a cracked downpipe on my 97' 850 R wagon. I am having a tough time finding a replacement. I found IPD's, but they are way too expensive for me. A friend of mine had good luck with an OBX but I cant find any for sale. Does anyone know where I can find one soon. My downpipe is in really bad shape.

Thanks,
Chet

Also I have a 16t from a 98 s70 turbo on the car, does anyone know the type of flange that it has?

Thanks,
Chet

Awesome. I just got myself a new (to me) turbo today and it has the angle flange on it. I don't know if the turbo currently on my car is the straight or angle flange, so the appeal to me is that you get two downpipes with that exhaust so I'd be covered either way.

EBAY sells the OBX downpipes as well.

The 16T will have a straight flange I do believe, but I think they also made it in angled flanged as well.

I spoke with the people at 2kracing and they quoted me at least a month on getting the whole exhaust system. I am on the list for the next batch but I am looking to get it a little sooner if possible. I will replace the whole thing from turbo back if I have no other option but I would really like to spend less money if possible (I'm a student).

Thanks,
Chet

what about IPD's whole stainless exhaust set up? That's only a grand (i use only very losely there) and its from the turbo back.

Why does just the down pipe cost just about a hundred dollars less?

big difference?

What does this exhaust system sound like? I am seeking one that has better gas flows, but does not sound like a race car. I believe the stock muffler which is located under the seat has to be removed.

The setup I ended up with was a 3" down pipe with the stock exhaust. it sounds about the same. maybe a little deeper under hard acceleration but nothing huge. The engine seemed to be more responsive and gas mileage went up.

hope that helps,
Chet
