New to me Volvo 850

Hello all. I own an auto salvage in SW MO and I recently purchased a 96 Volvo 850 non-turbo for $200 with a good title. The engine blew and there is a hole knocked in the side of the block. I plan on ordering a replacement engine for it next week. I started the car today, barely, and the transmission is good. The car is in immaculant condition and I hate to knock it in the head.

My question is, can I put a turbo from another Volvo on this non-turbo engine? I have several turbo's here on the shelf that have been tested and work. I have plenty of turbo Volvo's here as well that I can get parts off of. Would I have to do a bunch of other changes to make a turbo work? Or, is there an engine out of a turbo Volvo that would fairly easily drop into this car? I have a 94 Volvo 940 complete B230FT VIN 87 engine here with the turbo. Would that work?

I read the Noob forum and read the links and searched before posting. Found some good info but answers to my questions. Thanks in advance for your response.

You can do anything with money and effort.

It's all about putting together a turbo kit. Which may involve a lot of fabrication if you go for a non-stock turbo. To explain this better, you have two options. Source a turbo parts car, and then swap those hoses/piping and turbo stuff over to the N/A.

Or, you build your own kit, and make your own hoses/piping to make it fit. With this option, you can put pretty much any turbo that you want.

Here is a good link to find out the stock turbos.

And one more note, there is no "volvo turbo", the 15G is actually a Mitsubishi turbo.

Edit: Are you selling this car or keeping it for yourself? I'm just curious.

Double Edit: Also consider this, it might actually be cheaper to just buy a car that is already turboed.
