Oil pressure sender location
I plan on installing my autometer gauges this weekend - and one of them is an oil pressure gauge. The gauge comes with a remote sender, and from what I understand, you can tap it into the existing sender location. Correct? Also, where, specifically, is the oil sender on the 850 turbo? I'm sure I could find it if i searched, but if someone can tell me, or better yet post a pic, it would save me some time. Also, do i need to reconnect the existing wiring to keep the idiot light from coming on in the dash?

It should be on the front of the motor towards the center aight above the oil pan... going to try to get a pic for you now... ill be right back

Im hoping i can get that critter without having to pull the intake manifold. I think the next time i order stuff, im gonna just order about 10 intake manifold gaskets...lol

You dont have to pull the manifold, thats was when I did the pcv in the first pic.
You can get to that sensor easily from the bottom, I just included that pic just to show you the reference point... LOL ... ooops |
Thanks Matty - much appreciated. Anybody know off the top of their head what the thread pitch on that critter might be? Id rather know ahead of time so I can make sure I have right adapter here for my gauge - that way I dont have to stop in the middle of things to go get the right adapter...

Yeah and what size wrench do you have to put on this thing to get it off? from the top with the intake manifold on i cant even SEE the threads, and I cartainly cant reach it from underneath. It's gonna SUCK if i have to take the intake manifold off to get to this thing....

Found my own answer through trial and error and figured i would post it in the event that someone needs it down the road and actually uses the search function. ;) . You remove it with a 24MM deep well. I got it out (and broke it in the process) but now have my autometer sender installed and working properly. Thanks for the help everyone who chimed in!.

Any chance you have any photos of the installation ?
