Default Oxygen O2 Sensor problem

Hi,

I have a 96 850 Sedan with about 215k miles. About a year ago, the Volvo dealer suggested that the Catalytic converter be replaced as the check engine was staying on. We did not replace it as it seemed to run great. The last month or so, its been hard to start and when it does start, it idles very rough. Once your moving (above idle speed) it seems to run fine. The exaust also smells. I just replaced the converter today and it continues to have the same problems. Is it the O2 sensors that could be causing these problem? If so, are they hard to replace? I've worked on cars before, so I'm not green so to speak. If I need the sensors, any recommendations as to where to buy at a great price? I know the Volvo dealers want big bucks? Thanks in advance!

John

Yes the O2 sensor will make it run like that.

It isn't that bad to replace.

In the General section I made a post Links to sites check it out for the O2 sensor.

BTW I moved the Post to the Proper section.
