A question of utmost importance!!
 

Before I pull the pin on the timing belt tensioner -- do the sprocket timing marks line up in the center of the cut-out triangles of the timing belt cover and the crankshaft mark is a small cut out in the valley of one of the splines - correct? I need to be sure before i pull the pin and hand turn the crankshaft 2 full revolutions for line up assurance
-please advise if correct - and only if you are 100% sure please no guessing- just found new problem -- heater core dumping into cabin - will remove tomorrow and bypass with high pressure hose cant afford new one yet -will try to braze damage :cool: thanks alot every one you have all been a great source of inspiration to keep on going with engine rebuild -its slow but its moving along 2 or 3 more days 'till first fire

If you are talking about the marks that are at like 2 or 3 o'clock on the exhaust cam and about 10 or 11 on the intake then yes.
And yes on the crank one.

thank you Tech -my other question is - can i bypass the heater core i cant afford a replacement yet and probably not for some time will it be ok
i dont use the heater in florida any way

Your welcome. Download the Vadis software via torrent and a P2P client. It comes in handy.

Yes you can bypass the heater core. Undo the hoses from under the hood at the firewall and put a hose between the 2 hoses and good to go.
I had to do it to my car for a little while after I did my Evap and the coupler in the firewall broke.

I bypassed mine too for a short while because I broke the firewall mount.

I thought it was just me and those quick disconnect lines. I've broken 2 of the firewall mounts (different cars) so far! My best success for disconnecting the was using extended reach and bent long nose pliers. Be patient wiggling them and hope for the best!

Bypassed my heater hoses all summer after bending and breaking the plastic firewall mount when removing the engine. Had them bypassed all summer and fall with no ill effects.
With winter coming I either had to get replacement or find another solution for interior heat. Not wishing to deal with replacing flimsy plastic, I did the following: Found some heater hose with id the same as the pipes on the engine and heater core pipes.I think it was 5/8" but not 100%. I cut the the heater core pipes immediately below the support strap with a hacksaw. Took awhile because of the awkward position and not wanting to damage anything. Fed hoses through firewall (after removing broken pieces of connector) and connected to pipes of the heater core. Secured with 2 hose clamps each, just to be sure of no leaks. Connected other ends to engine,after passing them through the metal bracket that gets screwed to the firewall. Before fastening the plate to the firewall, I put a fair amount of some caulking that electricians use to seal outside boxes. Can't remember the official name but costs about $2-$3 at Home Depot.
Has worked fine for several months now and no leaks. Total cost was about $10.

Install a P2P client like Gnutella or Shareaza or Bitorrent.

Then go to this site http://torrentscan.com/ to search for a Vadis torrent. The file will be about 4.3gb in size. When you click to download the torrent, it will bring up the peer 2 peer client which will download the actual Vadis image file.

Have a look at scrap yards for a heater matrix, bought one for my 1996 850, payed £35 for it.

What O/S are you running the Vadis software. I have grabbed it twice, installed on XP and its jacked.
