Setting odometer miles to match miles stored in computer on 95 GLT
 

Hi,

I am waiting on my odometer gear and know the whole thing about getting the cluster out and fixing the gear... what I couldn't find really was how you move the odometer numbers to match up with the miles stored in the computer. I am stuck at 185,765 and need to get to 205,000ish.

All I found was someone using a pencil and something else to set the new miles onto the odometer?? Can anyone be more specific and how that is done I would hate to fix the odometer but not have the correct miles on the dash since I'll have everything apart.

take the brown thing outta the "motor" or whatever you want to call it and bend ur self up a nice paper clip crank, then get a young son, daughter, etc that likes and ice cream cone for hard work done.

There's a place on the side of the odometer box(where the numbers are) where you can slide the pencil. Just take a cordless drill and place the pencil where you would put the Drill bits and simply speed up the pencil and you will get your numbers moving that way. otherwise if you do this by hand, It will take forever!

Be careful using a drill I have seen people burn parts using the drill.

In the past I have slide the pin out and changed the numbers and reinserted the pin.
