Spark plugs and misfire fault codes
I have a '96 850 Turbo wagon with 120,000 miles. Owned the car for just over a year and am starting on some repair issues. Just replaced the mass air flow and rear O2 as per the mechanic and fault codes. That my gas mileage would increase.
Took trip to No Calif and climbing the Ashland grade, I had several misfires while on the climb. Happened again on the return climb, but would not happen on modest climbs. Got a check engine light and fault read over a dozen misfires. Mechanic said that it might be time for plugs. But reading in the forums, I honestly can't say what plug to buy today. IPD sells the Bosch FR7DPX, and also they say folks buy the Denso Iridium Ik22. Some here refer to the OEM as the best, what is that part and number? On this recent 1200 mile trip I only averaged just under the 25 MPG, thought I would hit 28+. Any comments. Ray |
