Default SRS light always on

The odometer was recently changed by the previous owner and he said because of it, the SRS light is always on. Is there a fuse or something I can pull so the SRS light turns off? He said that he's tried using softwares to get rid of it, but no to avail.......anyone have any suggestions?

can i maybe unplug the battery overnight so it resets or something or will that not work?

Just take the bulb out. Not the best answer, but the only one that will not need to have the car at the dealer.

You do understand that your SRS system is disabled when the SRS light is lid. What year is your 850? if you have 95 and earlier you can pull the codes and reset yourself.

it's a 1996...the thing is, the previous owner said he took it into the dealer and they couldn't get it to turn off but there was nothing wrong or it didn't show any codes.

Unless you know the person you purchased the used vehicle off of, do you not think that statement sounds a little unusual? Seems like something a person would say just to sell a car. Good luck.

nvmmmm, sryy everyone, i was going through the old records that he gave me (very extensive btw) and it said that the SRS light read out to "left seat belt" codes

can anyone elaborate on what that means? And how much it might cost to fix?
