Genius mechanic work on daughter's Volvo: PO had mechanic replace radiator, but failed to fully seat the transmission cooler lines for the spring clamp. Glad I caught it before loosing the fluid and blowing up the transmission.
Genius mechanic work on wife's Volvo: PO had mechanic replace turbo cooler lines and tightened the clamps so tightly on the rubber lines as to induce premature failure. Glad my other daughter (driving it at the time) was alert to coolant leak and caught it before blowing up the engine.
Now you know why I don't take our cars to garages aside from the $40 - $90 hourly rates.
End rant. If you have a great mechanic, tell them and keep them in business. Don't chase maintenance "specials" at quick stops to save $20.

I agree. I also like to purchase ALL of my new parts from places that specialize in Volvo's. I try to NEVER buy from O'Railey's or AutoZone. I'd rather wait for the part and maybe even pay a few more $$$ to keep the Volvo guys out there. That way they will be around way past the stealer.
