T5 wont exceed 5500rpm
Hello not been a Volvo owners for a few years.
Just purchased a 850 T5 auto estate. I had issue with turbo hoses and spluttering under load. Ive managed to connect the hoses up correctly and now she revs to 5500rpm under load. How ever come 5500 shes seems to be bouncing off the limiter
So vacuum hoses are all in place and good No other issues apparent. New air filter fitted. I think of cleaning the plugs rotor and cap tomorrow night and checking leads for arching. but I don't think this will fix it. I've considered it could be ECU engine safety???. I'm not sure that its lack of fuel as its bouncing not spluttering.
Input would be great please Thanks

Stage 0 means you should do a complete service to the car with oil, plugs and so on. There is a sticky here I think about it.
Have a look at this here https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...s-s-v70s-9266/

yep. It feels a bit better tonight I replaced a vac pipe and used clips to secure them. cant find my boost gauge at mo
If I understand they run 10.6psi and fitting a controller there for bypassing the egr controller, I should be able to up it to 12psi. ???

Been investigation and found how to get and clear fault code/clear light.
codes found
2-3-2 Speedo signal missing (could be caused by my intermitant ABS LIGHT)
1-2-1 S1 solinoid In transmissition housing (this could be why my shifting is low)
4-1-4 boost presure regulator (unplugged)
5-3-5 tc control valve signal. (This was unplugged when I removed from car)
will drive tomorrow and see what codes come up if any. hopefully not though.

Are you saying that the turbo control valve and boost presure regulator are not connected??
Then how come you wonder the car will not go higher then 5000 rpm?!
The ECU notices that you have way too much boost (due to the missing regulation) and cuts the fuel. End of the story.
Connect the parts as you will damage the engine in the long run.
A2 1-2-1 S1 solenoid is shorted to ground. This prevents the transmission to engage the low gears. The car goes to limp mode and starts in the 3rd gear. Probable fault is either a faulty solenoid or the cable harness is shot.

Ok done some searching yes ecu can be reset. so will do that tomorrow. Then Ill test drive and see if it changes gear at correct speed for 60% throttle in both modes. well except 4th in sport as thats 101mph lol. slightly illegal
it seems a common thing I have looked at a t5 newer with 100k less. That would only rev to 5500 these cars need regirous maintance. Technicauly theres no fault just worn parts. Car is for sale £380 drives her away essex Tax till nov and mot till 10th may
