Is there a way to get my antenna to go down (aftermarket stereo)?
I really need to get all this salt off my car, so I'm going to head to an automatic car wash the next time the temperature gets above freezing. However, I'm afraid my already gimped antenna might not hold out too well. It was simple enough with the old volvo stereo, just hit the power button and the antenna went down, however there is no way to turn my current stereo off. Would I be able to just turn the car off?

Why can't you turn the stereo off?
You should be able to turn all of them off. |

you must not have your head unit hooked up right, check your remote wire i think it's solid blue
i've put in two head units in my 850, and my antenna goes up when my head unit gets power and down when it turns off |

It doesn't go down when I turn it off.
And I thought I was saving time by taking CC up on their offer of a free installation. |

They screwed up I would make them fix it.

Yes, someone definitely screwed up the wiring part of the installation. You should be able to turn the stereo off and have the antenna go down

Everyone is correct, unless, the power antenna itself is now broken(due to freezing weather).

It tends to go up only a third of the way in freezing weather, compared to two-thirds normally (top has been broken since I bought the car).
Oh well, it's 42 degrees out, I might as well wash the car by hand. |
