Default ticking noise when braking..very odd

Hi guys, i've noticed that when i'm driving and go to apply the brakes, i hear this ticking noise coming from the engine area. It starts off quick and slows down as the car comes to a stop and stops when the car has come to a stop. Anyone else have this going on their car? very odd..
thanks

Check to make sure there is nothing rubbing against the wheel or brake disc. If not, the only thing I can suggest is to take the wheel off and look at the brakes, and CV joints

Can it be the ABS module clicking?
If any of your wheel sensors are bad or missing signal then the ABS module will actuate and cause ticking noise which can be felt by your foot on the pedal as well. If you don feel anthing odd on the pedal then Doing a physical inspection will be the best alternative.

Hi guys, ya i'm also haveing some abs issues, but in this problem, the abs is not kicking in..it's just the ticking noise, i will have a look at the wheels but i have a feeling it's more of a brake line issue...maybe air in the lines? can this be?? i'll also look to see if it might be the brake disc protector or cover? do i really need them on the car? thanks

The disc protector cover is more for keeping brake dust off the wheels in my opinion. If you had air in the brake lines the pedal would feel spongy, not firm. You can try bleeding them but I don't think this is your problem

so when i got close to home, i pulled out the fuse for the abs pump and abs control module and went for a spin, i didn't hear any ticking when applying brakes and no grinding noise when coming to a stop..it just stoped well, no abs mind you...the abs and trac light was on on the dash.
I then put back just the abs pump fuse back in and went for a spin. Now i just had the abs light on the dash. Tried braking and like before the ticking was not there and no grinding when stopping...the trac control was not working though...
So i guess this has to do with the abs system? i hope it's not the module...or maybe it is a dirty abs sensor somewhere?
a while back i pulled some codes in the obd port:

2-1-1 no LF wheel signal for moving off
2-1-3 no LR wheel signal for moving off
2-1-4 no right wheel signal for moving off
4-2-4 pressure switch for TRACS faulty or shorted
1-4-2 stop lamp switch faulty

checked again the other day and they have not come back..
thanks

I would say maybe dirty sensor.Maybe there is alot of shavings on the sensor and when you hit the brakes the computer thinks the wheel is locked up and that's why it is activating the ABS.

Hey Tech, ya i think i'll have to clean them...i'm a little nervous, i started taking off the screw of the sensor on the fron drivers side...as it was coming out, it was a little tough and felt that it was gonna snap! i think i'll start taking it off slowly and spray in some pb blaster to slacken the rest of the threading...is that safe to do? also once the sensor is removed and cleaned, isn't there a metal wheel or something inside the caliper that needs to be cleaned? thanks

The ABS rind in the front is part of the axle.
The rears it is part of the hub bearing.

If the sensors will not come out then try looking good above the axle in the front for the sensor from the bottom of the top of the hub. Then you should be able to clean the sensor.

For the rear you will need to remove the rotor to see it.
