Default Trunk hatch

A while back my truck wouldn't open anymore and i fiddled around and managed to get open again. Now it is stuck again and i can't managed to open after a week of fiddling. A Volvo mechanic as told me that the truck key hatch has to be changed. Does anyone know of a place that sells this part and how it's called officially . I am quite good a diy repairs and wanted to know if i could spare myself the 2 hours job Volvo estimated on this.

thnx

i do believe it is the lock cylinder. I can't even get my key to turn the lock too. Something is definetly screwed up in there and i think that's also the reason i can't program my remote.
Can i get that part? and is it tought to fix?

You have to get the trunk opened first. It is not that hard to fix from there.
If it is the lock cylinder unless you want 2 different keys you will have to buy it from the dealer to match the key.

How do i get it open if the trunk cylinder won't open it anymore. is there a latch i can use if i take the trunk liner out. Last time i kept on fiddling with the locks but now it seems to be definetely out.

If you can get the trunk liner/cover off you should be able to see the latch to open right away. You might have to disconnect the lock cylinder rod to unlock the latch itself then it will open.

Well, i took out the trunk liner from inside and managed to fiddle around with the lock cynlinder and i succesfully go the trunk open.
I tested the cylinder for about 30min and it worked fine. Put all back together and i'm hoping it doesn't screw up on me anymore.
I'll try to pick a used one up from a scrap yard just in case. I still can't reprogram my keys though. I did get the remote tested at volvo and it is fuctional. Maybe i'm not doing the correct procedure.??

With all the doors and hood closed turn the ignition on and off 5 times on the 5th time leave the ignition on.The Led on the dash should stay on solid. Then push a button on the remote and the light should blink to let you know the remote is programmed.

Well i've tried that and my Led doesn't go on. So you mean switching from position I to II 5 times and on the 5th time i leave it on position I right?

From totally off to the on position. If the led stays on then it should be in program mode.
Did the remote work on the car before?

Off till I think it is position II where it comes back to after you start the key and release.
The position with all the dash lights on.
Also make sure it is the proper remote for the car.
