Just use a small hose on any "open" port on the vacuum tree, remove a cap to get to it and slurp it in slowly.

That is exactly how I did it and it works great. That reminds me, I need to do it again before winter!

I'm not sure where you are and if it is available in your area but there is a product called Seafoam that has proven to be very effective in cleaning up carbon deposits on the valves when it is sucked through the intake system. Slowly slurp in 1/3 of a can, turn off the engine for 5 minutes, and then restart the engine towitness one of themost amazing smoke clouds you will ever see.

The power brake booster runs off of intake manifold vacuum and, lacking any other place (like on my daughter's Porsche 944), the Seafoam canbe sucked into the intake manifold through a power brake booster line. The Volvo's have a vacuum tree just behind the throttle body which makes it much easier to introduce the product than removing the brake booster vacuum line.

I hope that makes more sense now.

Is this product for use on any car?

What kind of improvments do you honestly get?

I have a replacement engine in The Anvil, about 200klm on it and put inlast Christmas (ouch), and Im cruious about this product as I have read a few posts about it and thought that it was only available in the States.

I now have, as of today 318,456klm, on the clock.

Hello Bestharry,

You may want to remove the apostrophe in your signature as youll notice that with every post they seem to multiply like tribbles.

Great cars arent they?

well, i did it using another hose from the vacuum tree, i noticed a small power gain, and slightly better fuel effieciency, it seems to run a bit smoother as well

so just to clarify, we're supposed to take off the cover to one of the 3 caps on the vacuum tree and stick a hose on and suck in 1/3 of a can of seafoam from there?

or are you talking about the big hose inside the square?

Default Seaform good for everything with gas

Seaform... I belong to 4-5 forums.... Yamaha motorcycle Venture, porsche Boxster, GMC typhoon and Chevy 1 ton dulleys, wave runner. Sea form has been around for about 40 years and I use it in everything.... John Deer riding morers, chain saws, gas generators...eveything that uses gas. You can add to gas for winter storage... my boats & wave runner. BUT you MUST run the engine for a while to get the Seaform into the fuel system.
You can also add some to the car before an oil change. Add about 4 ozs, run for 5 min. and the drain.
I get mine by the gallon from a Farm and feed store, saves about the cost of a can ($45.00 a gallon)
You have to remember the once you burn that tank of gas so is the Seaform.
