I am trying to find the exact wire for the VSS on a 1996 Volvo 850. I need this wire to connect to the wiring harness of my taxi meter so the VSS will send a signal to the taxi meter telling it when the vehicle is moving.

I have called several dealerships without any help, I have a wiring diagram that tells me that the wire I am looking for is under the steering column and that it is Yellow with a Black strip through it, I connected my taxi meter wiring harness to this wire and there is no signal being sent to the meter from this wire.

I have searched for two days on the Internet and called dealerships and stereo shops in several cities without being able to find anyone that has a clue as to where in the world I would be able to find the information as to where I can find the VSS wire that I need.

Any help would be Great!! Thank you all in advance!!

Well, they SHOULD be at the wheels - worst case scenario, you can tap into it there.

 

I agree you will need to find it in the ABS system.
